NutriTech Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
NutriTech ("we", "the app") is an iOS app that combines your genetic markers, Apple Health activity, and nutrition preferences to generate personalized insights. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. We designed NutriTech to keep your personal data on your device by default.
No account, data stays on your device
NutriTech does not require an account or login. Your preferences, genetic insights, meal plans, and daily guidance are stored only on your device. We do not operate a database of your personal content, and we cannot see your insights.
AI features & third-party processing (OpenAI)
Several NutriTech features are generated by artificial intelligence provided by OpenAI. To produce a result, the relevant inputs are sent over an encrypted connection to a secure processing service we operate (a serverless proxy), which forwards them to OpenAI. What is shared depends on the feature:
- Meal plans, meal swaps & shopping lists — your nutrition preferences, goals, allergies, learned taste notes and your genetic nutrition traits.
- Food logging (AI parse) — the meal description you type or dictate, and — if you use photo logging — a photo of your meal.
- Fusion Coach, daily guidance & weekly report — summarized daily health metrics (sleep, heart rate, steps, training load), your genetic traits, and, for the weekly report, your daily check-ins and nutrition log summaries.
- Lab report import — the text of lab/biomarker PDF reports you choose to import, so they can be converted into structured biomarker values.
- AI training program builder — your training goals, schedule and equipment preferences.
- DNA analysis — the curated genetic markers described below.
We never send your name, email, contacts, precise location, or your raw DNA file. We do not store this content on our servers; it is processed to produce a response and not retained by us. OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models. We ask for your explicit, opt-in consent inside the app before any AI feature is used, and you can turn AI features off at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy, which stops all such sharing.
Genetic data
- You may import a raw DNA export (e.g. from 23andMe or AncestryDNA). The app extracts only a curated list of genetic markers relevant to nutrition and fitness (an rsID and its genotype). Your chromosome positions and the rest of your raw file are never transmitted.
- Those curated markers are sent over an encrypted connection to our secure processing service, which forwards them to OpenAI (as described above) solely to generate your insights. We do not store your genetic markers on our servers; they are processed to produce a response and not retained by us.
- We ask for your explicit consent in the app before any genetic data leaves your device.
Health & fitness data
With your permission, NutriTech reads data from Apple Health including steps, active energy, time in daylight, sleep, heart rate and heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, sleeping wrist temperature, VO₂max, workouts, body measurements (weight, height, lean mass, body fat), date of birth, and biological sex. It is used on your device and, for AI features such as daily guidance, summarized figures (not raw samples where avoidable) are shared with OpenAI as described above.
If you enable Sync to Apple Health in Settings, NutriTech also writes data you create in the app back to Apple Health — namely logged foods and their nutrition, water intake, and workouts you complete in the app. This writing happens only on your device between NutriTech and Apple Health; it is not sent to us or to any third party, and you can turn the sync off at any time. Apple Health data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties except the AI processing described above.
Subscriptions
Premium features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions processed by Apple. Payments and billing are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details. To verify an active subscription, our service checks the cryptographically-signed receipt Apple provides. A random, app-generated identifier is used to enforce fair-use limits; it is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
Third parties
- OpenAI — generates the app's AI features (meal plans, food parsing, coaching, program building and DNA insights) from the inputs described above. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. See OpenAI's API data usage policies.
- Cloudflare — hosts our processing service and handles the network request.
- Apple — provides HealthKit data (with your permission) and processes subscription payments.
Your control and deletion
You can delete all app data at any time from Settings → Delete All My Data, which removes your preferences, genetic markers, insights, and generated plans from your device. Because we do not retain your personal content on our servers, this constitutes full deletion. You can also revoke Health access in the iOS Settings app.
Children
NutriTech is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by them.
Not medical advice
NutriTech's insights are educational and are not a medical diagnosis or treatment. Consult a qualified professional for health decisions.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
